This talented teenager started producing at only 13 years old, he states "Well, when I was 13, my friends were doing this rap/mc thing and I wasn't too tight with the lyrics so I thought I'd take on the alternative.
I already had a good ear for music so all I had to do was buy a keyboard, connect it to my pc and see where I could take it from there and here I am now. I'm 15 now and I think i've got a bright future in music."
I first played on a piano when I was about 5 I think, just playing simple melody tracks. I am taking keyboard lessons right now, but have been having them since 2003 and they've helped when it comes to making beats. You don't absolutely need to know how to play a keyboard to make beats but it does help, trust.
I'm not like other producers. I sometimes write down my music on paper first e.g. the "Feeling Me" track by Shannen. I wrote the piano part on paper first before turning it into a beat. I do that with some r&b tunes cos it lets me get sounds I would have never thought of playin on the keyboard.
"I've used the name (Prime Killer) since 2003, can't remember where i got it from though. Probably this first person shooter game i used to play, joined a Clan called S.O.T. , jacked the name from one of the ill shooters in that click.
Prime = Unique, one and only. Can only be divided by 1 and my self
Killer = Twisted meaning here - I will destroy anyone else claiming to be a 'prime' like I am"
Prime Killer believes the internet and mp3 have changed the music industry greatly. "Your shit gets heard easier. You can do your own promotion of your music and get people listening to it. If you're a commercial artist though, the internet can be a huge kick to your nuts cos niggas will bootleg your shit. Some people see it as a business to download and burn albums to cd"
Prime Killer is going to be an unstoppable force to be reckoned with, watch this space...
